Story of Ooh
The Story of Ooh! coffee table is part of a range of experimental furniture designed around the same visual theme and exploring a variety of craft material processes usually unconnected to furniture. In this instance the Story of Ooh! is manufactured as a solid oval polyurethane moulding, wrapped in luxurious green leather as a contemporary nod to victorian desks and bureaus. It is provided with options of painted hard wood legs or caster wheels.
Hula utilises the same oval profile in different proportions to create a stacking Hi-Fi stand. in this case cast in steel-reinforced concrete, each module weighs around 40Kg and is separated by hardwood legs that nest into dimples on the top of the next module. Concrete was used because of its superb acoustic damping properties, providing a jump free experience for your turn table, eliminating stray vibrations. The neo brutalist material choice.
